Baidoa, 27 September 2026: The Finance, Trade and Planning Committee of the House of Representatives of the South West State of Somalia conducted a working visit to the Ministry of Finance, where members met with senior Ministry officials.
The visit was led by the Deputy Chairperson of the Committee, Hon. Ibrahim Omar Ali, and attended by the Committee Secretary, Hon. Rahma Abukar Salah, together with other members of the Committee.
Discussions focused on the implementation of the 2026 State Budget, the status of government revenue and taxation, challenges affecting domestic revenue mobilisation, and ongoing efforts to strengthen revenue collection.
The meeting also reviewed preparations for the 2027 budget and the Ministry’s forthcoming financial plans.
The Committee emphasised the importance of continued cooperation between the House of Representatives and the Ministry of Finance, particularly in the areas of financial transparency, accountability, oversight of budget implementation, and the continued improvement of public financial management in the South West State of Somalia.
