Baidoa, 9 June 2026: The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Southwest State of Somalia, Dr. Mahad Mohamed Sh. Hassan, accompanied by the First Deputy Speaker, Hon. Adan Hassan Mohamed (Osama), and the Second Deputy Speaker, Hon. Shamso Mohamed Yaroow, presided over the Third Sitting of the First Session of the House.
The agenda focused on hearing policy addresses from candidates contesting the presidency of the Southwest State of Somalia.
The candidates, Abdiaziz Mohamed Osman Jawaari, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), and Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan, presented their respective programmes and priorities for the leadership of the Southwest State of Somalia.
The Speaker subsequently adjourned the sitting, with the presidential election scheduled to take place the following day.
